Though undated, this card would be from the years that the Queen served as a troop carrier during World War II. Her first crossing as a war vessel was in 1940, so the card most likely dates from the first half of the 1940's.

Condition: unused
The original Queen Elizabeth was completed in 1938, at which time whe was the largest Ocean Liner ever built. Hir claim to that title was not eclipsed for over 50 years. In the early 1940's, she ferried WWII troops, and sailed on her first actual cruise in 1946. This most famous of ocean liners capsized in Hong Kong Harbor in 1972, during a re furbishment project that had renamed her Seawise Univeristy, in preparation for a new life as a floating school, which, sadly, never began.
